Shaucha – Yamas and Niyamas

Paul Litvin Video Leave a Comment

“If [your] home is a mess…your mind will be a mess too.”

Shaucha, the first of the niyamas covered in our Yamas and Niyamas video series, means ‘purity’ or ‘cleanliness’. Physically we must be strong, stable, and healthy – illness, improper functioning of our organ systems, sluggishness, etc. will prevent us from leading a virtuous life. Energetically, blockages in our chakra system prevent our bodies or minds from functioning in a positive, efficient, or healthy manner. Mentally, one needs to de-clutter and simplify to hear the callings of the soul known as intuition.
