Ojas Milk is an easy to make, delicious, and soul-satisfying treat to enjoy when you’re feeling depleted. Like magic it provides much needed relaxation, encourages deep restful sleep, and infuses you with steady stable energy. The homemade almond milk is smooth, dates give a healthy sweetness, and the spices offer subtlety to the taste and healing properties.
During the summer I enjoy capping off long days with a cup of slightly chilled Ojas Milk. Here I’m sitting under a tree, but it’s equally as good by the water or on a porch, alone or with loved ones!
What Is Ojas?
Ojas is the subtle essence of Kapha Dosha, and so it encapsulates all that is beneficial in Kapha Dosha – stability, strength, endurance, vitality, immunity, steadfastness, compassion, fortitude, calmness, and peace. Through neglecting proper nutrition and rest, and by overdoing Ojas can dry or burn out. Ojas Milk is a great way to replenish your supply, especially when enjoyed in a calm, peaceful manner.
- Put all ingredients into a blender.
- Blend until almonds and dates are finely chopped. About 30-60 seconds.
- Strain the mixture from the blender through a cheesecloth. Be sure to squeeze the remaining juices out of the cheesecloth.
- Serve within 24 hours, preferably immediately.
